SAN FRANCISCO (Oct. 8, 2024) — The Elios Charitable Foundation is honored to reveal the distinguished lineup of honorees for this year’s Hellenic Charity Ball, set for November 9 at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco. Celebrating Greek‑American excellence in the arts and entertainment, the evening will spotlight three luminaries:
• Chris Diamantopoulos, with a 40-year career spanning Broadway (“Les Misérables,” Waitress), prime‑time television (Silicon Valley), and animation (Emmy‑nominated voice of Mickey Mouse).
• George Frangadakis, the Emmy-winning prosthetic makeup artist behind blockbuster hits like Star Trek: Discovery, Guardians of the Galaxy 3, and Furiosa.
• Alexandra Patsavas, Netflix’s powerhouse Music Production Executive, whose credits include Bridgerton, Coda, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, and Grammy-nominated soundtracks.
A highlight of the evening will be the inaugural George & Judy Marcus Lifetime Achievement Award, presented to Tony Orlando — the legendary singer-songwriter behind hits like “Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree” — whose storied career spans Broadway, TV, and Grammy-nominated music.
Hosted by Golden Globe-nominated actress and Broadway veteran Marilu Henner, the black-tie gala—led by gala chair Janice Gumas—will feature a cocktail reception, multi-course dinner, awards ceremony, auction, and dancing. Auctioneer Liam Mayclem will guide guests through luxury package bidding to support programs like the Heritage Greece scholarship initiative.
John Gumas, President and Chair of the Elios Charitable Foundation, commented:
“This evening rallies and unifies Greek Americans, reaffirming our philotimo. While we honor these remarkable individuals, the heart of the event is raising financial support and awareness for our Hellenic beneficiaries, with special emphasis on our youth.”
Tickets start at $750 per person. Proceeds will fund scholarships, cultural grants, and heritage programs across the Greek-American community.
