The Hellenic Charity Ball is one of San Francisco’s most star-studded gala events, honoring Hellenic Americans who have distinguished themselves in the creative, artistic and entertainment worlds. The Ball is the principal source of funding for the Elios Charitable Foundation’s philanthropic endeavors.
The Foundation has awarded $1 million in grants to an extensive list of recognized and deserving non-profit recipients. From the Nemea Archaeological Research Project at the University of California at Berkeley — to the Modern Greek Studies Program at San Francisco State University — to the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco for its acquisition of major pieces of ancient Greek art as well as its on-site showing of its extensive collection to thousands of public school students from throughout Northern California — to its twenty consecutive years as a leading underwriter of the Western Metropolis’ annual three-day Folk Dance Festival, which was recently attended by more than 2,500 people and is recognized as being the largest and most prestigious event of its kind in the nation — and many others.
The Elios Charitable Foundation was pleased to present the 2015 Hellenic Charity Ball on November 14, 2015. With more than $425,000 in sponsorships and donations, the 2015 Ball was a record-setting event with net proceeds of more than $200,000. More importantly, it was a fabulous evening and weekend, celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the Hellenic Charity Ball and our culture with family and friends as we honored extraordinarily talented Greek Americans in the arts and entertainment industry while raising money for the Foundation . . . thanks to our generous sponsors and donors, our honorees, past honorees, members, volunteers and guests.
